At LifterLMS what is free and what is paid?

LifterLMS itself is a free WordPress plugin. You can download the free LifterLMS plugin here. With the free LifterLMS plugin, you can sell courses manually (but not accept credit card or PayPal payments).  With the free LifterLMS plugin you can create courses and memberships that include engagements (i.e. achievement badges, certificates, automated emails), quizzes, and much much more.

You will need to use a theme on your WordPress site to go along with LifterLMS. Our Launchpad theme is a paid option, that is included in both of our plugin bundles (Universe Bundle and Infinity Bundle). However, LifterLMS also works with any well-coded theme and there are may other options (including free options) you could choose from.

We have a variety of paid add-ons. Most people want to accept online payments and that’s where our e-Commerce add-ons come into play. If you would like to integrate email marketing, we also have paid add-ons for that. At the highest level our premium advanced add-ons in the Infinity Bundle include advanced features for LifterLMS like Social Learning (a Facebook-like social experience) and Private Areas (for individual coaching).

A good place to start, if you want to create a course and sell it online would be the Universe Bundle; it’s a better value than buying the add-ons individually and includes our LaunchPad theme, payment gateway and email marketing add-ons as well as others. If you decided you wanted more of the advanced features, you could always upgrade to the Infinity Bundle at a later time.
