Purchasing and Procurement Guide for LifterLMS

LifterLMS is loved by small-time creators, individual teachers, and large institutions alike. Many large institutions, universities, government agencies, and corporate teams rely on our platform to build their training programs.

If you represent an organization or company, you likely have a structured procurement and purchasing process to follow. In this guide, we will explain how our billing works and guide you through our purchasing options so your finance team can complete your order smoothly.

We will also provide an overview of how LifterLMS protects your data privacy, approaches accessibility, and ensures your organization retains full ownership of your learning platform.

1. Payment Options, Invoicing, and Purchase Orders

Can we pay by purchase order or invoice?

Yes. We accept purchase orders and can provide manual or pro forma invoices for institutional buyers who cannot purchase through a standard credit card checkout.

What are our payment terms?

Our standard payment term for approved purchase orders is Net 30 days from the invoice issue date.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • PayPal
  • Bank wire transfers and ACH payments

How do we request an official quote or pro forma invoice?

If your organization requires a quote or an invoice before you can issue payment, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the LifterLMS contact page at https://lifterlms.com/contact/.
  2. Select the “Account or billing question” option from the dropdown menu.
  3. Enter your contact details and the plan you want to purchase (for example, the Earth Bundle, Universe Bundle, or Infinity Bundle).
  4. Include your billing name, physical address, and any required internal purchase order reference numbers in the message box.
  5. Click Submit.

Our team will generate an official invoice in PDF format and email it directly to your procurement team.

2. Vendor Details and Documentation

Please use the following company details to set up LifterLMS as an approved vendor in your purchasing system.

  • Legal Entity Name: Codebox, LLC
  • Registered Address: 63 Federal Street, Portland, Maine 04101, United States
  • Product Name: LifterLMS
  • Country of Incorporation: United States
  • Form W-9: We provide a signed United States Form W-9 upon request.
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN / EIN): Available on our standard W-9 document.
  • Terms and Privacy: Our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy apply to every purchase.

How to submit vendor registration forms

If your procurement process requires us to register in your vendor portal or complete custom onboarding paperwork, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare your vendor packet or supplier portal link.
  2. Send an email with your documents to team@lifterlms.com.
  3. Use the subject line “Vendor Registration Request – [Your Organization Name]”.

Our finance team will complete the paperwork, attach our W-9, and return it to you.

3. Accessibility Standards

LifterLMS is committed to digital accessibility for all learners and educators.

We work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA in the LifterLMS core plugin’s front-end screens, as tested with a default WordPress theme and no other plugins. Because LifterLMS runs on your own WordPress site, the accessibility of your learning platform also depends on your theme, plugins, and content. Our accessibility statement explains our current conformance, including that lifterlms.com itself is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

You can review our full commitment and status by reading our accessibility statement or by watching our podcast episodes on how to make eLearning websites with accessibility and Marketing and Business Automation.

4. Security and Vulnerability Disclosure

Security is a primary focus of our engineering process. LifterLMS follows WordPress core security best practices and conducts regular code audits to keep software secure.

We maintain a responsible disclosure program. If your security team needs to report a concern, please follow the guidelines published on our security page.

5. Data Privacy and Data Ownership

LifterLMS is self-hosted software built for WordPress. This architecture gives your organization complete ownership and control over your data.

Where does our student and course data live?

Your data lives entirely on your own web server or hosting environment. LifterLMS does not host, store, process, or sell your course content, student records, grades, or personal user details.

What information does LifterLMS store?

The LifterLMS main website (lifterlms.com) stores the standard administrative details needed to manage your software purchase:

  • Your billing contact name and email address
  • Your billing address and transaction history
  • Your software license key status and activated domain names

If a site administrator opts in to usage tracking, the site also sends non-sensitive usage data to LifterLMS once a week, including the WordPress admin email address, site URL, and technical environment details such as the WordPress version. Usage tracking is off unless an administrator enables it, and it never includes student data. See Usage Tracking for the full list and how to opt out.

GDPR and Privacy Compliance

Because you own and host your database, your organization is the primary data controller. LifterLMS includes native tools to help you honor General Data Protection Regulation requests, including the standard WordPress personal data export and data erasure features. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the account details we store.

6. Software Licensing and Renewals

What counts as an “active site”?

An active site is a live, production WordPress website where you enter your license key to receive automatic software updates, security patches, and official technical support.

Do staging or development sites require an extra license?

No. You do not need to purchase separate licenses for local development, staging, or testing servers. You can test your site in non-production environments without using up your production license activations.

Renewals

LifterLMS software licenses run on an annual subscription basis. An active license gives you access to regular software updates, security releases, and technical support. If you pay through an automated method such as a credit card or PayPal, your subscription renews automatically each year. If you pay through manual invoices, our team will send a renewal invoice 30 days before your term expires.

Cancellation

To cancel, email team@lifterlms.com from your organization’s billing contact address. Include your organization’s name and your order number, and tell us whether you want to cancel now or let your current term run to its end date without renewing.

Your website will continue to function after your license expires, but it will no longer receive software updates, new features, or technical support.
