Meet Jenni Jacobs and The Learning Professor
Dr. Jenni Jacobs does not have a technical background. Rather, she has been an expert in the field of education for 23 years. Jenni has taken on a variety of roles, including family child care provider, infant/toddler teacher, preschool teacher, school age teacher, and educational director.
She has a BSEd in PreK through 3rd grade education, a Master’s in Child Development, and an EdD in Special Education, with a focus on content mastery in online early childhood courses.
Since 2000, Jenni has been involved in adult early childhood education. She has been specifically involved in online education since 2006. Jenni was also a co-writer and grant director for the Mentoring Infant and Toddler Teachers Head Start grant which designed infant toddler college level curriculum for universities across the country.

Jenni’s site, The Learning Professor offers high quality, online courses for individuals who work with children of all ages in childcare settings. Currently housing 8 courses, the site covers a variety of topics including child development, curriculum for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, challenging behaviors, and more. Courses range in length from 1.5 hours to 7.5 hours and cost from $10 to $60.

This belief is the driving force behind Jenni’s teachings. Jenni had been offering face-to-face courses through a community agency since 2001 to people that work with children in childcare settings.
Because of the number of enrollments needed to make it viable, it became increasingly hard to offer in-person courses and trainings.
As a result, the number of face-to-face courses is limited for individuals and it becomes hard for people to obtain the professional development they need or want. Often times people end up taking trainings that don’t pertain to the age group they teach.
Putting trainings online allows students to take the training they are most interested in or need anytime they want, instead of waiting for a community agency to offer it. As a result, teachers are able to receive the information they need to make a better environment for the children in their care during their most vulnerable time in life.
Providing Financial Security for the Whole Family
Jenni’s site is truly a homegrown family business. As a result of offering these online trainings, Jenni has been able to provide both of her adult children with jobs (1 full-time and 1 part-time).
They have flexible schedules, work from home, and are now starting their own businesses after seeing the results of this one.
Jenni has been able to move from working a full time job and 2 part time jobs to now working 4 days a week as a result of the additional income.
She has been able to travel more and enjoy financial stability and freedom and will soon be leaving her current job to run her online education business full time.

The courses offered on The Learning Professor help Jenni’s students to be better teachers, which positively impacts the lives of the children in their care.
Jenni has received emails from both teachers and specialists talking about what a difference her courses have made in their lives.
One specialist wrote that, after taking Jenni’s course, she saw such a difference in the teaching style of a teacher she was working with that a 2 year old that was on the verge of being expelled was no longer being considered for expulsion and now had an empathic teacher which was a total difference from what she had previously observed.
