WordPress won’t let me install LifterLMS because of my PHP version. What should I do?

If your WordPress website won’t let you install LifterLMS and gives you an error message like the one below …

… This means your server does not have a recent modern version of PHP running on it. LifterLMS requires a minimum of PHP 7.2. These are the minimum system requirements for LifterLMS.

To resolve this issue:

  • Contact your web hosting company and ask them to upgrade your server to at lease PHP 7.2
  • Contact your web hosting company and ask them to show you how to upgrade your server to at lease PHP 7.2

If your webhosting company will not upgrade your PHP to a modern version (or show you which button to click to upgrade yourself), we recommend switching to a new web host that uses modern PHP for their servers.
